School Transition is scary!

Standard

School transitions are the conversions students go through as they change schools throughout their lives. These transitions play a major role in the development of young people’s decisions and serve as a milestone which can direct them in a number of ways.

But is can be an unnerving and scary time for students in special education that could derail their future or provide the best future.

It’s not just the transition from school to school, it’s the transition from year group to year group and lessons to lessons.  to can cause stress and problems for likes of students with autism, who like to have a routine and don’t change.

The ways schools deal with this is varied from school to school, which is sometimes a good idea and sometimes is not a good idea.

For example, if the child goes from a primary school with one transition strategy to a secondary school with a different strategy, then to further education with a different strategy.

I can become a problem for the student and the school.

most schools now adopt the transition day where student experience what their new class/ year group going to be like or their new school.

The students can become very distracted in the few months and weeks to transition and that leads to work to become delayed. so it vitally so allows the student to have  space to breathe and relax at home.

That all for today folks.
